Todd Rhoades reports that some at Liberty University are not too pleased about Seattle’s Mars Hills pastor Mark Driscoll’s upcoming speaking engagement due to racy language in his book.

ConcernedIt’s not his language that disturbs me as much as his arrogance. Liberty can do much better than him.

JulioBeing frank is not racy. There is a difference. What’s sad is that there are many who don’t have any common sense in dealing with sensitive themes.
As far as being arrogant… How is that? Being confident in what your are teaching isn’t a sin. Especially with the growth and scope of Mars Hills Ministry, we would be fools for leveling such accusations towards someone simply because he’s doing things differently. Try bringing him before the Lord in prayer so that God can change your heart.

John FinneyI Tim 3 says an elder (church leader) “must be above reproach, the sober-minded, self-controlled, etc. If using “locker room” humor or off color language fits in there, I don’t see it. If a Bible teacher tempts a man to sin while teaching him against sin, there’s something wrong. I’ve got enough temptation outside church, I don’t need it during the preaching.
