A note from arranger/composer Don Chapman:
If your praise band ever complains about playing “boring, easy praise music” then the Resurrection Overture is for you! It’s not easy and will take practice and rehearsals. The piece is intended to open your Easter service but can also work as an offertory special. It can be performed in several different ways:
- Live praise band/optional orchestral instruments without a click track.
- Live praise band/optional orchestral instruments with click track and/or drum loop.
- Praise band (drums, bass, piano, keyboard strings, electric guitar(s) playing along with “extras” MP3 (click on left channel, “extras” on right: bells, windchime, bagpipe, harp, etc.)
- Piano solo with track MP3 (click on left, orchestration on right.)

We’re planning to use this as our prelude on Easter! God has blessed us with a donation of timpani so we’ll be able to use them on the percussion part this year. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us!
