Worship: The War That Never Was

For two decades, we’ve labeled the tension between traditional hymns and contemporary worship as “worship wars”—but what if that’s completely missing the point? Time to confront an uncomfortable truth: when worship becomes about our preferences, it’s no longer about Christ—it’s about us. Ouch! And we can actually reframe these conflicts as “idolatry wars” where we’ve placed ourselves on a throne meant only for Jesus. True worship should break your heart over sin, not song selections.
