Each week, worship leaders are given a fresh opportunity to choose songs to put on people’s lips when they come together on Sunday. In a church with an informal liturgy, the slate is more blank than at a church with a more formal liturgy, but in either case, a worship leader who chooses the songs will look at anywhere from three to ten blank slots that he’s tasked to fill in.
