At a recent Hillsong concert the guy I stood next to said “this sounds like every church in America.”
He’s right – in the quest to become cool and relevant most churches have adopted the jangly-guitar style of worship. This isn’t a bad thing as most people love jangly guitars and it drives a lot of pop music. The church should speak the musical language of the culture. But what can your ministry do to put a twist on it? Can you do something a little different to give your church a sound of its own?
