7 Ways to Promote Easter Using Social Media

Social media is one of the most powerful outreach tools a church has! Especially around Easter. Speaking of, you’re busy planning for Easter, so let’s not waste any time. Here are seven ways to make the most of social media this season:

#1 – Post Your Service Info Early and Often Share service times, locations, and any registration links at least 6–8 weeks out. Pin the post to your profile so it’s easy to find, and repost it as Easter gets closer.

#2 – Run a Short Lenten Content Series Post daily or weekly reflections, Bible verses, or short prayers to walk your audience through the journey to Easter. Consistency builds habit and people will keep coming back.

#3 – Mobilize Your Members to Invite Personal invitations drive 82% of first-time attendance at special church events. Equip your congregation with shareable digital invite graphics they can post themselves or send via text.

#4 – Create a Custom Hashtag Create a simple hashtag (like #EasterAtGrace) and ask church members to share Easter events on their personal social media. It builds community and expands your reach organically.

#5 – Share Behind-the-Scenes Content Share behind-the-scenes content from your Easter prep to build excitement. Think sanctuary decorations, rehearsals, or volunteer teams in action. This humanizes your church and builds anticipation.

#6 – Post Short Testimonial Videos Ask a few congregation members to record a 60–90 second video about how their faith has impacted their life. These are highly shareable and resonate deeply with people who are spiritually curious.

#7 – Run a Targeted Local Ad Run a small local Facebook or Instagram ad campaign targeting families in your area. Even a modest budget of $50–$100 can put your Easter service in front of thousands of local people who don’t yet know your church.

Easter is the single biggest outreach opportunity of the year! A little intentional effort on social media can go a long way toward filling seats and touching lives. Go get ’em!
